Hi sweetheart, this is the first post of what I hope will be many to track our journey as a father and daughter dynamic duo. I plan to post something every day that talks about what we did, how you are doing, and my thoughts as your father. If all goes well, you will be reading this on your 18th birthday, which will be on 12/5/33. Holy smokes!
Ok, well, you made me a daddy today. You came quick (surprisingly quick) and showed us your amazing face at 5:16 PM this evening. You are absolutely stunning and are such a little fighter. When coming out you took in some maconium (it means you pooped in utero and ingested some of it. Because of that we couldn't do immediate skin-to-skin which was our plan. Instead you had to go up to the NICU to help with your breathing. You are breathing way too fast little one. Your job is to take long slower breaths. You may be there 12 hrs, a day, or two days. BUT you are doing great, and are healthy in every other way. You are very aware, and spent your first few hours just looking around.
I can tell you right now that I don't think I've ever seen anything so precious and special in my life. You are an amazingly beautiful miracle. Both your mom and I cannot wait to get to hold you and learn who you are. We will love you every moment of every day from not until forever. I love you sweetheart, and I hope that you keep pumping those little lungs to get nice full breaths.
